The UBC Product Management Club is a student-run organization that empowers aspiring product managers through hands-on learning, industry insights, and a supportive community. Founded in 2020, PMC connects students with industry professionals, hosts workshops and case competitions, and creates resources that break down what it really means to work in product. Our goal is to make product management accessible to students from all backgrounds—whether you're just curious about tech or actively preparing for a PM role.

Product Conference 2025

Product Conference 2025 is our flagship event, bringing together student Product Managers (PMs) and industry leaders for a full-day experience featuring keynotes, hands-on workshops, and mentorship opportunities.

Objectives:

✅ Inspiration – Provide students with insights from top PMs through keynotes and panels.

✅ Skill-Building – Offer interactive workshops and mentorship sessions to guide students in their PM careers.

✅ Community Growth – Strengthen connections between students, professionals, and sponsors.


Marketing Strategy & Execution:

📹 Engaging Video Content: Created 2 Instagram Reels using fun, relatable trends to captivate students.

🎨 Graphic Design: Designed 17 high-quality visuals in Figma for Instagram and LinkedIn to build awareness.

📩 Newsletter Outreach: Launched targeted email campaigns for club members, event attendees, mentors, and sponsors.


Results:

📈 360% boost in social media engagement.

🎟️ Resulted in 104 attendee sign ups.

🤝 Strengthened PMC’s network with 13 mentors and 18 sponsors engaged.


Product Challenge 2024

Product Challenge 2024 was an immersive, hackathon-style case competition. The event allowed students to develop product management skills, build mockups, and present their ideas while receiving mentorship from industry professionals.

Objectives:

✅ Skill Development – Equip participants with hands-on PM experience through ideation, design, and pitching.

✅ Networking – Connect students with industry professionals and experienced PM interns.

✅ Engagement – Immerse new members in UBC’s product management community.


Marketing Strategy & Execution:

🎨 Content Creation: Designed 9 posts in Figma for In

stagram and LinkedIn to build excitement and educate students about the event.

📹 Social Media Trends: Produced 1 engaging Instagram Reel, leveraging trending formats to attract students.

🚀 Launch Hype: Generated buzz through a high-impact launch post, reaching 10,000+ views.


Results:

📈 146% increase in social media engagement.

👥 Successfully attracted 80+ participants to the challenge.

🤝 Strengthened visibility of PMC as the go-to club for aspiring PMs.
